THE COMEDY CODE

Real comedians have rules. Here's ours.

• 💪 Punch UP, not down. Make fun of the strong, not the weak.
• 🧐 The joke is on YOU, not on someone sitting in the room.
• 🎤 If it doesn't make YOU laugh, it won't make anyone else laugh either.
• ⏱ Slow down before the punchline. Comedy is timing.
• 🔗 Watch what works. Steal what works. All comedians do this.
• 😳 When a joke flops, that's data. Try it different next time.

MR. TWISTY'S TIPS

Forty-five years of stuff that works.

• 🗣️ Read your jokes OUT LOUD before you ever perform them. Three times. Three is the magic number.
• 👀 Look at one friendly face in the audience. Talk to that face. Don't look at everyone.
• ⏭️ Pause before the punchline. Even just for one breath. That's where the laugh lives.
• 🔔 Volume matters. Talk LOUDER than you think you need to.
• 🎤 Open with a strong joke. Close with your STRONGEST joke.
• 🤯 If you forget a line, smile, look at your set list, keep going. Nobody knows what you were going to say.
• 😍 The audience WANTS to laugh. They came here for that. You're not selling, you're delivering.
